Students in English 9, 10, and 11 each wrote five-line poems about their earliest memories. The bell ringer prompt was: "Try to recall your earliest memory. Who was there? Where were you? What were you doing? Construct a five-line poem about this memory with as much description as possible." Each student posted his/her poem as a comment to this blog entry. Enjoy!

I was just a few blocks away from the hospital.
I got to meet Dustin Dwight Michael Halverson.
He was so tiny and all I did was hold him, I was so happy.

Walking into the large hut-like home of my Tia Mago, I felt the cool dirt floor underneath me. I recall Papà holding up a baby goat to the family, laughter was everywhere. Then the goat began to urinate and I stared from way down below, wondering what the big uproar was about.

Dylan- I remember being picked up and almost thrown into a room of snakes. Scared and terrified of all the huge snakes. I wasn't ready to die in a room of snakes. It was a horrible joke that he did. I hate that man.

ReplyDeleteRemembering the days when we had a sandbox in an old house and remembering the smile and laughters of the cousins long gone, and even if I can't see them in person I will be able to hear their voice on the telephone. Remembering the good times I had with cousins when we would go to a women's house to take apples from her tree and taking some home.

ReplyDeleteThis story is about a old lady that is really fond of her self and her reflection. That has lots of spoons, mirrors, and a lot of windows in her house. Then she goes around to peoples houses to steel their spoons so she can hang them on the walls so she can see her self any were in the house. That is why she loves spoons so much.
