Caption Writing Activity

Freshmen and sophomores wrote captions for the following picture. The students were instructed to include the 5 W's and H in one well-developed sentence.

  2. Six young boys, about 8 years old, are forced to hang on a pole with powder on their hands. If they let go the crazy old man that is supervising them will use a paddle to beat them. Why he is doing this the kids don't know, but in his mind young children should not be allowed to run around and play like kids do.

    all of those Chinese kids got in trouble so they have to hang there for 5 hours. If the let go they have to start all over. Some of them are crying because the have been hanging on so long.

  19. A bunch of little kids from Africa on October 28, 2011 decided to hang on to a pole they found. They wanted to see how many kids they can have on the pole before it snaps. They have 6 hanging on the pole, but the pole hasn’t snapped yet so they need more kids. They had nothing better to do.

  24. A contest was held on June 7th 1976 in China to determine to see what Asian kid could hold on the longest to the pole. The contest started off with 6 contestant but only had room for one winner. First place went to young Ching-Chang Chuy who won a free trip to America.

  25. In China some where, there are six little boys trying to hold for there lives. Some think that they will make it but some are trifled for there lives. If they were to fall they could be disqualified for the 2020 Olympics.
